WHO IS SWAN HEAVY MECHANICAL?
Swan Heavy Mechanical (SHM) was set up in 2024 to handle all mechanical needs across the Swan Group. We service, repair, and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles to keep everything running safely and efficiently.
Our mission is simple: We keep you moving.
Our team of qualified technicians works on everything from routine servicing to urgent breakdowns. We’re reliable, fast, and focused on getting the job done right the first time.
Originally built to support our own operations, SHM now works with other businesses in the region, offering tough, dependable mechanical support across the Coorong.
OUR STORY
Swan Heavy Mechanical was established in 2024 to meet the growing mechanical demands across the Swan Group. With a large fleet of machinery operating across multiple industries, we needed a dedicated team to manage servicing, reduce downtime, and keep equipment performing at its best.
By bringing our mechanical services in-house, we created a more efficient way to manage maintenance and repairs across the business.
Since then, we’ve expanded beyond The Swan Group, now providing reliable, high-quality mechanical support to local businesses, contractors, and farmers across the Coorong.

Workshop / Project Manager
Luke Medlow
Luke has over seven years of experience across the Swan Group, bringing strong operational, workshop and management expertise to Swan Heavy Mechanical.
As Workshop Manager, Luke oversees the day-to-day operations of the workshop, coordinating servicing, repairs and maintenance to ensure machinery and equipment remain safe, reliable and operating at peak performance.
Luke works closely with the maintenance team to schedule workloads, support staff and keep workshop operations running efficiently.
Maintenance Manager
Brad Jeffery
Brad is qualified as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, having undertaken his apprenticeship in his thirties.
Brad has more than 10 years work experience on heavy vehicles and crushing plant and equipment.
Brad is responsible for fleet maintenance and repairs across The Swan Group and delivering strategic maintenance management across the fleet.

Maintenance Technician
Kevin Medlow
Kevin is a qualified Auto Electrician with over 25 years of trade experience and ten years’ experience operating a small business.
He has also provided part-time handyman services, showcasing his diverse skill set.
In his new role as a Maintenance Technician, Kevin will be responsible for maintaining machinery for The Swan Group, including fixing air conditioning units and auto electrical issues.
Maintenance Technician
Joven
Joven bringing valuable hands-on experience in servicing and repairing vehicles. With a background in automotive servicing, he has developed strong mechanical skills and a keen eye for detail.
In his role, Joven is responsible for helping service, repair and maintain machinery, vehicles and equipment across the Swan Group.
Heavy Diesel Apprentice
Ben Borchardt
Ben is a third-year Heavy Diesel Apprentice at Swan Heavy Mechanical, bringing a wealth of hands-on experience working on vehicles and small engines.
In his role, Ben assists with servicing, repairs and maintenance across the Swan Group's fleet and equipment, continually building his skills in heavy diesel mechanics.
He particularly enjoys servicing the trucks and takes pride in keeping machinery running reliably.
Ben's enthusiasm, strong work ethic and willingness to learn make him a valued member of the workshop team.
CEO (Director)
Craig Swan
Craig has a thirty year career in agribusiness contracting. Qualified as a diesel mechanic, Craig worked in the mining and auto service industry sectors before joining the Swan Brothers family business as first an employee, and later as a partner.
In addition to his trade qualifications, Craig has formal qualifications in leadership and governance and successfully completed the 2020 Governor’s Leadership Foundation program.
Craig is responsible for strategy, direction and resourcing of The Swan Group.
Business and Development Manager (Director)
Kerry Swan
Kerry has a thirty year career in management. Kerry previously worked for the South Australia Government as a Project Manager and later was employed in regional development.
Kerry holds formal qualifications in project management, management, coaching and real estate.
Kerry is responsible for business systems, business development, innovation, and marketing of The Swan Group
